Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Delhi

You will arrive at the Delhi International Airport. Delhi is India’s national capital and the second largest metropolis after Mumbai. Delhi has been continuously inhabited since the 6th century BC. Through most of its history, Delhi has served as a capital of various kingdoms and empires. It has been captured, ransacked and rebuilt several times, particularly during the medieval period, and modern Delhi is a cluster of a number of cities spread across the metropolitan region. An overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 2 Delhi

Today after breakfast, you will explore the old and new city of Delhi. You’ll be mesmerized by the 100-feet, red-stone boundary walls of Red Fort built during the 17th century. Opposite to this ancient structure is Jama Masjid (Mosque), built in 1656 AD, construction of red sandstone and white marble. It is the largest mosque in India where 20,000 people can pray together at a time. You will also tour the city in a Rickshaw. Along the streets of old Delhi you will see the Raj Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi (Father of the Nation) Memorial, which is close to the river Yamuna. Next, you will visit Humayun’s Tomb, tomb of the second Mughal emperor, which was built by his wife during the 16th century, and then you will visit Qutub Minar, a 220-feet tower made by one of the first Muslim leaders in India, built between 1199 and 1368 AD. It runs counter to Rashtrapati Bhawan, the residence of the President of India. There you’ll also see the Government Buildings, Parliament. An overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 3 Drive from Delhi to Rishikesh

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Rishikesh. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to hotel. In the afternoon, proceed for a guided tour of Rishikesh, a town of temples, ghats and the Ganges. An overnight stay in Rishikesh.

Day 4 Drive from Rishikesh to Joshimath

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Joshimath. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to hotel. An overnight stay in Joshimath.

Day 5 Drive from Joshimath via Govindghat to Ghangaria

After breakfast you will drive to Govindghat, a small hamlet situated on the confluence of Alaknanda & Laxman Ganga. Arrive Govindghat and commence trek to Gangharia. You will arrive in Ghangaria camp. An overnight stay in Ghangaria.

Day 6 Trek from Ghangaria to Valley of flowers and return to Ghangaria

In the morning after breakfast, you will trek to the Valley of Flowers. The first part of the trek is through thick forests and later you will come to an open meadow. After seeing some rare flowers, we trace our steps back to Ghangaria. An overnight stay in Ghangaria.

Day 7 Trek from Ghangaria to Hemkund and return to Ghangaria

In the morning after breakfast, you will trek to Hemkund, the pilgrimage for Sikhs as well as Hindus. On a clear day one can see the panoramic view of mountain peaks and the valley. Explore the area and trek down to Ghangaria. An overnight stay in camp at Ghangaria.

Day 8 Trek from Ghangaria to Govindghat and drive to Badrinath

In the morning after breakfast, you will trek down to Govindghat and from here drive to Badrinath. Badrinath is one of the four most important pilgrimages of Hindus. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to hotel. An overnight stay in Badrinath.

Day 9 Badrinath

In the morning after breakfast, you will walk towards the base of Neelkanth peak and visit the temples. An overnight stay in Badrinath.

Day 10 Drive from Badrinath via Auli to Joshimath

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Auli and witness Mt. Nanda Devi and other peaks. Explore the area and drive down to Joshimath. An overnight stay in Joshimath.

Day 11 Drive from Joshimath to Rishikesh

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Rishikesh. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to hotel. An overnight stay in Rishikesh.

Day 12 Drive from Rishikesh to Delhi for departure

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be transferred to airport for your onward journey.
